And Adam Levine humorously announces Maroon 5's new album will be out in November
Sunday night was a big night for not only the guys in pop rock band Maroon 5, but for the fan base as well, as the group received the much deserved Decade Award at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards, which aired live on Fox from the Galen Center in Los Angeles.
After a night of ceremonies, performances, and acceptance speeches, the show closed with the Decade Award recipient segment. Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine and guitarist James Valentine attended the award show Sunday evening to accept the gratifying award. Levine got up to the microphone and began humbly speaking about how himself and the band are 38 years old and not teenagers, however are still being praised by millions and millions worldwide after over 10 years of making music and touring. Levine, also a coach on NBC's The Voice which returns next month on NBC, also confirmed that the next Maroon 5 album be released in November. "Thank you. Our sixth and final album is coming out in November," Levine begins to sarcastically state to the teen audience. "Man, I'm joking. We are never gonna go away," he finishes.
Teen or not... that was an award show to remember! 😂 Thanks for a great night, @TeenChoiceFOX & see you next year! 🎊 #TeenChoice @maroon5 pic.twitter.com/p1SHHjfzk9— Universal Music CA (@umusic) August 14, 2017
Maroon 5 were also nominated for two other categories at the Teen Choice Awards. They lost the Choice Music Group award to girl group Fifth Harmony and Choice Pop Song for "Don't Wanna Know" to Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You". Still proud of our boys for receiving the Decade Award!
Relieved that the sixth Maroon 5 record will not be their last, it was confirmed that we will be graced with a new album in November. A new single is scheduled to be released in September coinciding with the premiere of the 13th season of The Voice (Monday, September 25th). A music video for that single was shot in Los Angeles earlier this week, which includes Levine hospitalized in a scene, as seen on his Snapchat story.
