Maroon 5 guitarist James Valentine joins Voice alum Matt McAndrew on stage

Last night's (Monday, Apr. 27) live performance show of NBC's reality show The Voice was none-the-less an action packed one. Blake Shelton performed his brand new single, the top 8 performed the songs they thought were most relatable to their lives, and Gwen Stefani, Cee Lo Green, and Usher all made appearances as guest mentors on the show alongside coaches Adam, Christina, Pharrell, and Blake.

But one performance stood out last night, at least in my opinion, and was indeed the best performance of the night. And that was Matt McAndrew's performance of his new single, "Counting on Love."

The season 7 The Voice alum and finalist returned to the stage to perform his new single off his upcoming debut major label album and performing alongside him was Maroon 5 guitarist James Valentine.

Morton posted a statement along with the release of "Claustrophobic" stating:
“This is for everyone who wants to be exactly who they are and not who other people want them to be… for artistic and creative freedom.”

The song focuses on the struggles behind being under a contract for a major label and management and his lack of creative freedom he feels he doesn't have. Throughout the song's entirety, you can hear different styles of music including soul, jazz, piano-jazz, and rhythm and blues.

Adam Levine Talks Fatherhood, Being Attacked On Stage

The Voice season 8 coach line-up.
Adam Levine and 'Voice' coaches talk with Carson Daly about parenthood & such

Last week, The Voice coaches all sat down with host and television personality Carson Daly to talk about the show's current season, their contestants, parenthood and having kids, trading out coaches, and coach Adam Levine's scary experience on stage involving an intoxicated Maroon 5 fan in Anaheim last week.

After Carson and Christina jokingly antagonized coach Adam about him having a busy life and keeping his personal life personal and having no kids, Levine was quick to respond saying "I'm gonna do it. Stop pressuring me, alright?" Carson asked Adam if he thought about fatherhood in general and the Maroon 5 frontman said "Listen, I'm super excited to be a father. That's something that I've always imagined. I'm excited, you know? I just don't want to be as busy."

Also, Levine speaks about his personal experience with an intoxicated young lady that jumped him on stage, who Levine somewhat thinks may be in prison at the moment.

Are Maroon 5 Back In The Studio Recording Album Six?

Photo of Jesse (left) and producer Noah Passovoy (right).
Maroon 5's follow-up to V could be out sooner than expected

Maroon 5 may be already working on their next studio effort.

Just a day following their last date on the North American leg of their Maroon 5 World Tour, the Billboard Music Award-nominated band is back in the studio, more specifically at Conway Studios, in Los Angeles, recording new material.

According to an Instagram post by guitarist James Valentine that was posted Tuesday night (April 7), the band is already "back in the studio blowing up amps", as stated by Valentine as the photo's caption.

The photo displays founding member and guitarist Jesse Carmichael listening and observing while handling a guitar that is hooked up to a fancy pedal board in the background and producer Noah Passovoy sitting in a chair looking like he is critiquing. Hardcore Maroon 5 fans will know that Passovoy is a longtime friend of the guys in the group and has worked with Maroon 5 on their previous effort, V on songs such as the hit single "Maps", along with "Unkiss Me" and "Leaving California."

But, to appease the less optimistic, this photo could just resemble Valentine and friend Carmichael jamming out to random sounds and what-nots over some amplifiers with Passovoy. But we like to wish for the best possible outcome.

It won't be soon before long, kids.

Adam Levine Gets Surprised By Fan At Honda Center

Maroon 5 on the V Tour.
Adam Levine gets attacked by supposed intoxicated fan at Maroon 5 L.A. show

Yesterday evening (Mon, April 6), pop rock outfit Maroon 5 performed their final show on their North American leg of the world tour in Anaheim at the Honda Center. As special and shocking final shows on tours are supposed to be, frontman Adam Levine didn't think he would be getting briefly mauled by a fan on stage.

A female concert-goer, who clearly had V.I.P. tickets or access to the pit for the Honda Center show on Monday night, had proclaimed to be intoxicated and had access to the staircase to main stage right, whereas she saw it would be a chance to get a hug or to be serenaded by the Maroon 5 frontman. She ran up on stage and looked like she was attempting to slow dance with Levine in some way. Levine obviously didn't cooperate and was in complete shock upon the fan sneaking up from behind him.

Adam Levine shares his thoughts on the "Blurred Lines" lawsuit

Over the weekend, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine called Saturday Night Online and had a chat about The Voice, his recent success with touring and the top 10 hit single "Sugar", and shared his thoughts on the recent news from the Pharrell and Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" lawsuit outcome.

Levine backed up his current fellow Voice coach Pharrell Williams stating that "It's bullshit" how the outcome came to be. Williams and Thicke both coughed up over 7 million to Marvin Gaye's family due to being accused of stealing Gaye's hit "Got to Give It Up."

Maroon 5 Announce Monstrous Fall Tour With Meghan Trainor, Nick Jonas

Adam Levine (left), Meghan Trainor, and Nick Jonas.
Maroon 5 + Meghan Trainor + Nick Jonas = An awesome fall tour

It's happening! Maroon 5 will be headlining a monstrous tour with co-headliner Meghan Trainor and Nick Jonas this Fall.

It was announced on AXS.tv and Live Nation earlier today (Wed, April 1) that pop rock act Maroon 5 will be headlining a North American tour beginning in late August. Joining the band will be co-headlining act Meghan Trainor and supporting act Nick Jonas on the 27-date tour.

Pop star Meghan Trainor is most prominently known for her massive hit single "All About That Bass", which spend a few weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was one of the best-selling singles of last year. Trainor also recently dropped her debut album Title (to Epic Records on January 9) and is currently on tour with indie pop band Sheppard in the U.K. and Europe.

Nick Jonas, best known for his latest hits "Chains" and "Jealous", is one of the hottest artists on top 40 radio today. With his eponymously released second album dropped on November 10 of last year (via Island Records), Jonas carries a perfect pop rock and R&B sound that is very similar to that of Maroon 5's earlier material (Songs About Jane and It Won't Be Soon...). Jonas was originally planned to open as a supporting act on rapper Iggy Azalea's North American Spring and Summer tour, however cancelled due to Azalea's struggling schedule.

The Maroon 5 North American Fall Tour w/ Meghan Trainor and supporting act Nick Jonas begins Sat, August 29 in Seattle at the KeyArena and will conclude on Wed, Oct. 13 in Ingelwood at The Forum.

Pre-order tickets for Maroon 5 S.I.N. users will be available on Friday, April 3. Regular pre-order tickets will be available on AXS and Live Nation on Mon, April 6. General admission tickets will be available to the public on Friday, April 10 on maroon5.com/fall-tour!
