Silent Pilot put pop punk spin on Maroon 5's 'Sugar'

Silent Pilot mix Maroon 5 and pop punk in new "Sugar" cover

There has not been much news to report about Maroon 5 or Adam Levine since the exciting season 9 finale of The Voice happened last Monday, resulting in Levine and finalist Jordan Smith winning the show. But, I had come across multiple posts online of a band that covered one of Maroon 5's biggest hits and did it with style, originality, and spunk.

Silent Pilot, a pop punk and alternative rock band that began in San Francisco, California in 2014, had recently published a cover of Maroon 5's single "Sugar" and it was without a doubt excellent. If you are an avid fan of pop punk or pop rock, you will love this band's spin on their latest cover for "Sugar."

Silent Pilot releases original material as well. The band recently released their new single, titled "Illusions", last month and a three-track EP, titled Motions, back in May. You can check out the band's music on Bandcamp at http://silentpilot.bandcamp.com!

Adam Levine is mentioned in new 3OH!3 song

3OH!3 (left) and Adam Levine.
Levine is in 3Oh!3's comeback single, but not in the best way

Last week, electropop group 3OH!3 announced their comeback with a new song, titled "My Dick", which may be the lead single off the group's forthcoming new album.

"My Dick" has lyrics that are strongly comedic and are (not) taken lightheartedly, and has been labelled "bizarre" by Music Times and "horrid" by several others. However, upon my first listen of the odd track, I hear Adam Levine's name being mentioned.

"Ya dog, it’s motherfucking Kid Quizine
My dick gets bigger than Mr. Clean
So fresh you could swish it like Listerine
Your dick look like Adam Levine."

Woah. So yeah, our favorite Sexiest Man Alive is definitely not being praised in the new 3OH!3 track, but we can assume it's all in good fun.

3OH!3 became a famous and household name on pop radio in 2009 with their platinum single "Don't Trust Me." They later released their platinum-selling album Streets of Gold in 2010 and have worked with other recording artists such as Katy Perry, Kesha, and Lil Jon. They have been stylized as crunk, hip hop, pop rap, and comedy pop.

Take a listen to the song below:

Team Adam's Jordan Smith has the performance in 'Voice' history

Team Adam's semi-finalists for "The Voice" season 9.
Adam Levine's contestant Jordan Smith is slaying The Voice this season

Tonight's performance of Jordan Smith's cover of "Somebody to Love", originally by classic rockers Queen, is definitely one of the best, if not the best performance that has ever happened on NBC's The Voice.

Jordan Smith, one of the three semi-finalists on Team Adam this season, performed the song and concluded Monday's (Dec. 7) episode. Smith's performance is currently the No. 1 song on the iTunes Songs chart overall, accompanied by Amy Vachal's performance of "Make You Feel My Love", originally by Bob Dylan, in the top 10 (Vacahl also being 1/3 of Team Adam).

Some are saying that it is the best performance on a music reality television show since 2009. Check out this Tweet below.

However, this was not the only time Smith belted out a beautiful performance, and had taken everyone's attention, this season. Last week, Smith played "Hallelujah", originally by Leonard Cohen, which also graced the iTunes Store No. 1 spot. Another remarkable performance Smith gave this season was of his cover of Beyonce's "Halo" during the Live Playoffs in early November.

5 most underrated Maroon 5 songs of all time

Maroon 5 in 2004.
Maroon 5's top 5 most underrated songs are counted down

In the wake of Maroon 5's timely Grammy Award nomination for their hit single "Sugar", I thought it would be appropriate to conduct and foster a top 5 list of songs performed by Maroon 5 that are arguably the most underrated in their career.

Let's get started.

5. "Rag Doll" from the album Songs About Jane Deluxe Edition (2002)

If you are easily lured in by the graceful sounds of the blissful R&B-meets-rock sound from Maroon 5's big time debut album Songs About Jane, then this rarity is for you. "Rag Doll" is an easy-listening urban-inspired song that starts off with fluid, elegant piano chords presumably accompanied by the band's keyboardist Jesse Carmichael, who kept Maroon 5's early soulful style alive through the years. The song was written and composed by lead singer Adam Levine and Carmichael and has only seen the light of day through the deep, dark holes of YouTube's music category and was released in 2004 along with the SAJ repackage.

4. "Tangled" from the album Songs About Jane (2002)

One of Songs About Jane's most prized possessions, "Tangled" is a funky-pop rock tune that make you sing along with its underwhelmingly catchy lyrics. Relative to "The Sun" (which has a ton of praise from fans and music critics alike) and "Shiver" (which also has moderate praise), "Tangled" deserves just as much recognition as the two.

3. "Kiwi" from the album It Won't Be Soon Before Long (2007)

This rock and roller serves only as the tenth track on Maroon 5's sophomore effort It Won't Be Soon Before Long. "Kiwi" has been said to be too vulgar or sexual for radio and many think it should have deserved a kick ass music video. The song featured a lengthy guitar solo towards the end that will draw you in subtly leading into the next track, "Better That We Break", which calms you down before the album's dramatic conclusion of "Back At Your Door" (two more underrated tunes from It Won't Be Soon...).

2. "Story" from the album The B-Side Collection (2007)

"Story" is a rare and unique song from Maroon 5 that serves as the opening track on the band's mini-LP The B-Side Collection. The song also serves as a b-side to "Makes Me Wonder" (which became Maroon 5's first No. 1 single in the United States). The "story" that the record tells is one that Maroon 5 have told thoroughly throughout their second album; stories of heartbreak, wishful thinking, and missing the way things were. A solid pop rock song, this bonus cut will certainly reel you in and make you obsessed with Maroon 5's early era once again.

1. "I Can't Lie" from the album Hands All Over (2010)

One of my favorite songs from Maroon 5 and arguably the best song taken from their third studio album, Hands All Over, "I Can't Lie" is an easy-listening soul rock tune that will remind you of the Motown era (Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Rick James, Billie Joel, ect.). Even though "Just a Feeling" and "How" deserve (almost) equal praise, "I Can't Lie" takes the cake from Hands All Over.

Maroon 5 nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance

Maroon 5 is up for a Grammy Award in 2016

The highly anticipated list of nominations for the 58th annual Grammy Awards were revealed early Monday morning (Dec. 7) and Maroon 5 fans will be happy with the results.

Maroon 5's single "Sugar", taken from the band's fifth album V, is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at next year's Grammy Award ceremony. They are not nominated for any other awards.

Maroon 5 are now a 12 time nominated and 3 time Grammy Award winning band. The Los Angeles based group won their first Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2005. The following year, Maroon 5 won their second Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo/Group for "This Love." Maroon 5's single "Makes Me Wonder" won the Grammy for the same award two years later in 2008.

"Sugar" served as the third top 10 single taken from V, Maroon 5's second No. 1 album since 2007's It Won't Be Soon Before Long.

Watch the 58th annual Grammy Awards on live Sunday, February 15th only on CBS!

Maroon 5 will not be playing at Super Bowl Halftime

Coldplay wins polls over Maroon 5, Metallica and others

It was revealed earlier today (Thur, Dec. 3) that despite constant updates and rumors circulating around Maroon 5 possibly headlining the Super Bowl 50 halftime show next year, Brit-pop sensation Coldplay will be performing instead.

Maroon 5, although never confirmed, was one of the most anticipated acts to possibly perform at the halftime show. Many suggested that Bruno Mars would return to perform. Other major media outlets, such as Billboard and TIME thought Adele, Metallica, or One Direction would possibly perform.

Better luck in 2017, Maroon 5.

Will Maroon 5 be nominated for a Grammy in 2016?

Maroon 5 at the 2013 Grammy Awards.
The GRAMMY Awards will announce nominations next Monday

It WILL be soon before long until The Grammy Foundation reveals the entire list of nominees and categories for the upcoming 58th Annual Grammy Awards. The full list will be announced next Monday, December 7.

But one thing millions and millions of music fans are biting their nails over are if their favorite artists and bands will be (deservingly) nominated for an awards or awards. I know personally for fans of Maroon 5, it is almost always a surprise when Maroon 5 becomes nominated. Over the coarse of ten long years, Maroon 5 has been nominated for 11 Grammy Awards and only winning three of those nominations.

REMINDER: Nominations for the 58th #GRAMMYs will be announced on MONDAY, DEC. 7!
Posted by The GRAMMYs on Wednesday, December 2, 2015

Maroon 5's first win at the Grammy Awards was at the 47th Annual ceremony in 2005 when they were nominated for Best New Artist. Up against Los Lonely Boys, Joss Stone, Gretchen Wilson, and the most popular rapper alive Kanye West, Maroon 5 prevailed and won the Best New Artist award. Frontman Adam Levine has spoken about the win several times in numerous interviews over the past decade saying it was "surprises" and the band was collectively "shocked" that they won over West. The same year, the Los Angeles rockers were nominated for Best Pop Performance Duo/Group for their single "She Will Be Loved." Despite high hopes that Maroon 5 would win their first two Grammys in one night, "She Will Be Loved" lost to "Heaven" by Los Lonely Boys; "My Immortal" by Evanescence, "The Reason" by Hoobastank, and "It's My Life" by No Doubt" also among nominees. The very next year, at the 48th Grammy Awards, Maroon 5 were up for their third Grammy nomination, but this time for their single "This Love" for Best Pop Performance Duo/Group and won. Being their second Grammy win, Maroon 5 were considered one of the hottest rock bands in pop music in the 2000's.

Just two years later, Maroon 5 were nominated for two awards. "Makes Me Wonder" was nominated for Best Pop Performance By a Duo/Group with Vocal and won, making it the group's third and final win, to date. Maroon 5's second album, It Won't Be Soon Before Long, was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album, however lost to Back to Black by Amy Winehouse. "Winning a Grammy is one of the biggest landmarks any band could hope to achieve [...]", said Adam Levine about Maroon 5's third Grammy win at the 2009 American Music Awards red carpet.

"Won't Go Home Without You" and "If I Never See Your Face Again", featuring recording artist Rihanna, each received nominations for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals and Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals, respectively the next year at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards, however each lost. 2011 saw Maroon 5 being nominated for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals for their single "Misery", yet lost again. "Moves Like Jagger", featuring Christina Aguilera, became one of the best-selling singles worldwide during its time on the charts, and was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, and lost.

The last time Maroon 5 were recognized at the Grammys was in 2013. "Payphone", featuring Wiz Khalifa, was nominated for Best Pop Performance by a Duo/Group and lost to "Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye and Kimbra, and Maroon 5's fourth album, Overexposed, was up for Best Pop Vocal Album and lost to Kelly Clarkson's Stronger.

Now, it being a brand new year, we are hoping that Maroon 5 get recognized at the 58th annual Grammy Awards next year. A self-evident assumption would be that "Sugar", arguably one of Maroon 5's biggest hit singles of all time and the third single off of V, would be nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Another popular guess among music critics and fans, according to Billboard magazine, is that Maroon 5 being nominated for Artist of The Year. Maroon 5's overpowering impact on pop music was evident in the past year with V becoming the band's first chart-topping album since 2007 and it achieving a platinum-selling status in a short amount of time. "Sugar" nearly became Maroon 5's fourth #1 single in the U.S. after peaking at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and selling over 3.1 million digital copies since March of this year.

So, what do you think? What award/awards do you think Maroon 5 should be nominated for this year? Let us know on Twitter @M5NewsRoom!

SPOTLIGHT: Tilian releases dramatic new album 'Perfect Enemy'

Tilian Pearson performing in 2014.
Tilian Pearson gets emotional on his new studio album Perfect Enemy

Every now and then, I will post an article shining a spotlight on an artist and their new material that inspires me or thatI think deserves some attention from music fans. And today, I would like to shine that spotlight on someone who has inspired me for years and who I have been a fan of for a long time, Tilian Pearson.

You might be familiar with Tilian as the lead vocalist of his rock band Dance Gavin Dance or for his work with his former progressive rock group Tides of Man, but today (Fri, Nov. 27), the lovely pop singer-songwriter dropped his sophomore full-length, Perfect Enemy. An anthemic, dramatic, and emotional album composed of 12 well-written and clear quality songs, Perfect Enemy was recorded in September and was produced by music engineer Kris Crummett. Some songs show moments where Tilian gets explosive and sings about themes such as heartbreak, wishful thinking, and nostalgic memories. "Satellite" is a standout on the album for me, being one of the best songs I've heard all year and will be sure to make you miss your former lover. The album's lead single, "Tug Of War", is also a heart tugger.

5 producers Maroon 5 should work with on Album 6

Left to right: Pharrell Williams, Adam Levine, Mark Ronson.
These producers would make Maroon 5 change the game

With a sensational thirteen years of mainstream and commercial success worldwide selling nearly 28 million albums and 49 million singles on an international level and having won several Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, Billboard Achievement Awards, World Music Awards, among others, Los Angeles pop group Maroon 5 have made their mark on pop and rock music alike since their milestone debut Songs About Jane dropped back in 2002. It was the infectious pop-funk hit "This Love" and the soft rock ballad "She Will Be Loved" that introduced Maroon 5 to the world and has since been dominating the music game. But, we all are aware that nowadays, as a band, it is seemingly hard to become (or stay) successful in the music industry. With rock music being the prominent go-to for newer bands, it seems as though the pop realm is where it's at. And Maroon 5 would not be here if it wasn't for experimenting with different options, sounds, and instruments of the modern music world. Working with the likes of Robert John "Mutt" Lange, who made Maroon 5's third studio effort Hands All Over an funky masterpiece, and Max Martin, who opened the door for the band to pursue electronic and pop music as its purist form, has made the band even more open to working with outside producers and writers and exploring every crevice of music.

Today, I had put together a list of five producers who are very popular in the music industry who Maroon 5 should consider working with. From the rap metal god Rick Rubin to the alternative duo The Neptunes, I have ranked the top five producers Maroon 5 should work with going into the follow-up to 2014's V.

So here we go!

5. Rick Rubin

Fredrick Jay Rubin, better known as Rick Rubin, is one of the most popular music producers in the rock and metal scheme of music. Rubin's resumé is quite masterful dating all the way back to the 1980's. He has produced several anthemic arena albums for AC/DC (Ballbreaker), and Slayer (Christ Illusion). Eminem's The Marshal Matters LP II, Limp Bizkit's Results May Vary, and even Slipknot's Vol. III (The Subliminal Versus) are also huge records produced by Rubin, but his most popular records he has produced are Johnny Cash's final albums American III: Solitary Man, American IV: The Man Comes Around, Unearthed, American V: A Hundred Highways, and American VI: Ain't No Grave. Rubin has also experimented with hip hop with artists such as Run D.M.C., LL Cool J, Jay Z, and the world famous Beastie Boys.

4. Mark Ronson

Mark Daniel Ronson is one of the most popular DJs and producers overseas in the United Kingdom, but he recently made his print in the United States with his breakout funk-pop hit single "Uptown Funk" with Bruno Mars. Ronson is otherwise super famous for his work with the late jazz singer Amy Winehouse, who was one of the most prominent women in music before her passing in 2011. Aside from those 2 biggies, Ronson has produced albums for artists such as Christina Aguilera (Back to Basics), Adele (21), Lily Allen (Alright, Still), Bruno Mars (Unorthodox Jukebox), Paul McCartney (New), among several others. His infectious jazz-fusion, soul, and classical footprint has left an impression on pop music since the 1990's and would bring out Maroon 5's "Ragdoll" or "Sweetest Goodbye" side.

3. Neal Avron

Neal Avron is someone who leans towards producing more rock or punk records. Avron is mostly popular for working with artists such as Linkin Park (A Thousand Suns, Minutes to Midnight), Everclear (So Much for the Afterglow, Songs From An American Movie Vol. One: Learning How to Smile), Switchfoot (Vice Versus, Fading West), Sara Bareilles (Kaleidoscope Heart), Yellowcard (Ocean Avenue, Light and Sound, Paper Walls), Fall Out Boy (From Under the Cork Tree, Infinity On High, Folie a Deux), and Walk the Moon (Talking Is Hard), among numerous others. Avron could help possibly make Maroon 5 another Songs About Jane or Hands All Over.

2. Greg Kurstin

Also straight out of Los Angeles, Greg Kurstin is a genreless producer and has worked with artists ranging from The Shins and Foster the People to Adele and Beck. Kurstin is most fluent in the pop music realm and has produced chart-topping records such as Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)", Katy Perry's PRISM, Sia's "Chandelier", and Adele's "Hello."

1. The Neptunes

Arguably the most popular music producing groups of the 21st century, The Neptunes are huge and weigh heavily in R&B, hip hop, and urban music. Composed of Grammy Award winning recording artist Pharrell Williams and multi-instrumentalist Chad Hugo, the two have produced some of this century's hottest records with artists including Dr. Dre and Beyonce. The Neptunes have been named the number-one production group of the 2000's by Billboard Magazine and the 3rd greatest hip hop production group by Vibe magazine. Also, they have heavily inspired Maroon 5 in their early career.

Adam Levine, R. City 'Voice' performance postponed

Adam Levine and R. City's performance has been "Locked Away" until further notice

On tonight's intense live results episode of NBC's reality show The Voice, coach Adam Levine and hip hop dup R. City were set to relieve all of us from the tension with a performance of their hit single "Locked Away", but we didn't get it.

It was revealed on Theron Thomas and Timothy Thomas' manager Ray Daniels' official Instagram account that the "Locked Away" performance was cancelled and postponed until further notice due to coach Adam's health.

"Sorry guys," Daniels' Instagram post began reading. "Adam was under the weather to perform." One comment from a fan read a bunch of sad face emojis which seem relatable to viewers who were expecting the performance.

However, as the photo post demonstrates, the performance had been rescheduled until further notice.

Maroon 5 gets Sicarri remix for 'Sugar'

Sicarri remixes Maroon 5's hit "Sugar"

Despite the fact that Maroon 5's latest single "Feelings' just hit the radio airwaves last month, Sicarii, also known as Matthew Medved, premiered his brand new remix of Maroon 5's hit single "Sugar" today through his official Soundcloud profile. Speaking with Billboard magazine about the track, Sicarii said "I channeled that vibe on what was originally intended as an original track, but when Interscope gave me the opportunity to remix Maroon 5’s 'Sugar,' I realized how well Adam Levine’s vocals fit within what I’d made." Maroon 5's "Sugar" has been remixed a number of times in the past, including a chart-topping remix from Nicki Minaj, which was released back in March of this year. You can listen to that here! Q: Would you guys ever consider doing meet and greets again? - Asked by Allie R.

A: Yes, we'll do them again. We'd like to set them up so we feel like we can actually connect with people. It's hard to make those personal with the amount of people and limited time. I hate for people to feel cheated by the experience. I had a really interesting experience being on the other side when I went to a meet and greet for Rush. Very trippy.

Q: Are there plans for a live album any time soon? - Asked by Hannah K.

A: Good idea. I'll bring that up with the band, it's probably time.

Q: Where do you see the band in 5 years? Perhaps experimenting with new sounds? - Asked by Maricielo G.

A: Great question. I think all of us want to make a more traditional record next... What do I mean by that? More like the way we made Songs About Jane, just sitting in a room with our instruments and slugging it out. It's been fun to experiment on the last couple of records with the more electronic sounds, but maybe we've gone as far as we can with that for now.

Q: Will the band be bringing in any surprise guest artists along this tour like Taylor Swift did on her 1989 tour? - Asked by Joanna K.

A: Well we will have some amazing musicians out there with us, like Tove Lo and our buddies Phases, maybe we'll do some collabos there. I don't think anyone will ever have as many guests as Taylor did this last tour!

Q: How has the dynamic of your guys' tours changed over the years and how do you expect or hope for it to continue to evolve? - Asked by Emma H.

A: It's much more comfortable these days. It's nice to not have to drive the van all night while everyone argues about whose turn it is to lay down. It's nice to not have to share a twin bed with Mickey. Although, those times were pretty fun.

Q: Hi James! Are you releasing a new album soon? - Asked by Juliane C.

A: I wouldn't say soon, we pretty much have been on the same wheel of release an album/tour/release an album/tour etc. etc. and right now is the first time in our adult lives we're not working on a new record, although we still have a lot of touring ahead.

Q: What was the inspiration behind the band's hit song SHE WILL BE LOVED & THIS LOVE? - Asked by Joanna K.

A: The music was inspired by Bossa Nova. The main guitar part is like bossa nova riff that has been straightened out (I can't swing like those dudes). . . Lyrically it was Adam observing his friend's devotion to a troubled girl. The friend is someone you guys know. Because he might be onstage with us.

Q: Will Maroon 5 consider videotaping one of your concerts so we can buy it and keep it, of course? - Asked by Edelweiss M.

A: We might record it digitally, I mean who has a VCR anymore?

Q: Do you and the band do anything specific before going out on stage before every show, like say some sort of crazy chant, etc? - Asked by Heather B.

A: Yes, we do a huddle! We put our hands in the middle and yell hoooo-rah. It's really dumb but we can't go onstage before completing this!

We're like best friends. I love that dude."

Adam also quickly denied the rumors of him and wife Behati Prinsloo having some troubles in their new marriage. "[People say things like] 'There's trouble in paradise' and 'they're all miserable' I'm like 'that's so mean.' Why would you do that?"

Maroon 5 will make a "super artistic" record next year

Maroon 5 in 2015.
Maroon 5 teases live tour videos on Instagram, Levine confirms Maroon 5's 6th album

It's been a wildly busy year for the guys in pop rock band Maroon 5 and it looks like they are not planning on slowing down anytime soon.

In an interview with Howard Stern yesterday morning (Tue, Oct. 27), Adam Levine spoke about a ton of topics including his show The Voice's struggle launching successful recording artists, becoming a father with wife Behati Prinsloo, and touring. However, the Maroon 5 frontman also said that the band is planning on writing a sixth album. "I really want to do it ourselves, really make a great record, super artistic record," he told Howard.

Meanwhile, the band is hinting at something, but nobody can put their fingers on exactly what. Earlier today (Wed, Oct. 28), Maroon 5's official Instagram published a video of a very indistinctive shot of palm trees with static, shock-like noises (annoyingly) playing throughout the background, and towards the end of the 10 second clip is Maroon 5's popular red 5 logo. The post was put up on Facebook and Twitter as well. But that's not all that has happened. Throughout the last couple of days, Maroon 5 has teased unanticipated and unforeseen, yet similar short clips on their official Instagram surrounding Maroon 5 performing on stage.

Several fans online are speculating that Maroon 5 is teasing their next record (already) with these strange short clips. Others are reckoning that the L.A. devotees are planning on releasing or recording a live CD/DVD (the last time Maroon 5 released a live album was in 2005 – with Live–Friday the 13th). Another obvious guess at the short clips, of course, could be the band teasing their new "Feelings" music video.

Adam Levine talks about The Voice's failure to launch stars

Levine on Billboard magazine.
Levine spoke with Howard Stern about The Voice's obvious troubles launching stars

In a lengthy and entertaining interview on The Howard Stern Show yesterday morning (Tue, Oct. 27), Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine visited the show to speak about his band's success, the Super Bowl 50 rumors, and his frustration about his show The Voice's failure to launch any successful recording artists.

But that is just it, it's not NBC's fault, is it? People who have won The Voice, such as Josh Kaufman, Craig Wayne Boyd, Tessanne Chin, among several others, get carried on from the NBC platform to the recording industry world. Pop and rock artists who have won the show such as season 5's Chin or season 8's Sawyer Fredericks become signed artists under Universal Music Group's subsidiary of Republic Records while country and alternative artists who have won, season 3 winner Cassadee Pope for example, move onto UMG's Big Machine and Republic Nashville.

Here are some of the highlights from the interview.

Adam on Universal Music Group: "The rollout of all that is still such a mess and by the way, just to clarify, this has nothing to do with what happens on NBC or with the people. In that time, we do so much great s— for these singers, and then they go to a record label that I won’t mention. But they go to a record label that f—s it up."

Adam on post-Voice rollout: "Most of them don’t even [rush the winner into recording and writing with a bunch of producers that have zero connection to them]! You’d be shocked to see it. The show ends, and they’re like, ‘Okay, they don’t matter to me anymore.’ This is how they feel on the other end [...] I don’t understand why they don’t care. That’s what drives me absolutely bonkers. And then it makes me feel defeated on my end because there’s really not much I can do."

Adam on his feelings towards the post-Voice rollouts: "We get so attached and so passionate about helping these guys. And now it’s become this thing where I feel like after I want to be part of it, too, to whatever capacity I can. And I’m glad I’m saying this on air so maybe the label will get angry and fuck off, so we can get somebody else to do it."

Maroon 5 are 'current frontrunners' for performing at Super Bowl 50

Maroon 5 may curate next year's Super Bowl Halftime show in February

Maroon 5 may be performing in front of their largest audience to date.

It was confirmed today (Wed, October 21), by E! Online that pop rock band Maroon 5 are the "current front runners" on the list of plausible artists to perform at next year's Super Bowl halftime show.

If Maroon 5 were to perform at Super Bowl 50 (also dubbed "The Golden Super Bowl" and "Super Bowl L"), they would be following up this year's halftime show catered by mutli-platinum pop musician Katy Perry who performed at the Super Bowl XLIX in February, and showman Bruno Mars who performed with Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Super Bowl XLVIII in February of 2014.

Maroon 5 have an amalgam of hit singles that have been released in the last 15 years and would provide a perfect mix of rock, pop, and dance music.

Check out the official announcement below or in the link:

Here is the official statement:
E! News can exclusively reveal that Levine and his band, Maroon 5, have had extensive talks about performing during halftime of Super Bowl 50 in 2016.

A source tells E! News the other acts the NFL have discussed at one point have included Coldplay and Bruno Mars, who just performed in 2014 at Super Bowl XLVIII. However, the source says Levine's band is the current front-runner for the gig.

The Super Bowl is perennially the most-watched television event of the year, as Perry's Super Bowl performance drew 121 million viewers, the highest viewership for the halftime special according to Nielsen. Mars' performance brought in 115 million, the second highest.
A rep for the NFL has not returned E! News request for comment and Maroon 5's rep had no comment regarding the potential Super Bowl performance.
Super Bowl 50 will take place at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Sunday, Feb. , 2016, and air on CBS.

Maroon 5's 'Feelings' may become a flop

"Feelings" lyric video caption.
Pop radio is just not feeling Maroon 5's new single

So, according to recent data and information released through Mediabase and CMM, Maroon 5's newest radio single, titled "Feelings", is not doing so well on pop radio in the States. If fact, the disco-dance-pop tune has the least amount of positive reception.

Take a look at the information given below, via HeadlinePlanet:
With a positive reception from 35.2% of listeners (#32 out of the 32 measured pop songs) and a negative reaction from 41.9% (highest-negative), Maroon 5’s “Feelings” actually holds the dreaded “net negative” reaction at pop radio. Its “net positive” score is -6.7; none of the other 31 pop songs featured in this week’s callout reports has a sub-zero net positive score.
The 6.7% “favorite” rating for Maroon 5’s “Feelings” is the lowest — and thus proof that the reaction to the Maroon 5 track is not simply “polarizing.” It is bad.
Familiar to 74.3% of listeners, the song can certainly achieve improved marks moving forward. However, it appears likely to end up with a particularly warm reception from pop radio listeners.

For more information, click on the link below:

"Feelings", produced by longtime Maroon 5 producer Shellback and Oscar Görres, serves as the fifth single off of the band's fifth studio effort, V, which was released in September 2014 and was re-issued earlier this year in May. It follows-up its previous single, "This Summer's Gonna Hurt Like a Motherf***er", which performed moderately poor on contemporary and pop radio worldwide (#21 on Adult Contemporary, #23 on Billboard Top Hot 100, and #40 in the United Kingdom). "Feelings", thus far, has charted at #43 on the Canadian Top 40, #29 on the Mainstream Top 40, #118 on the Billboard Hot 100, and #17 on the Adult Top 40 chart.
