Maroon 5, The Wanted, Weezer & many more on the list of artists with the top songs named after other artists

Maroon 5 is among the top 20 artists and bands that have released singles named after other legendary artists with their 2011 No. 1 hit single "Moves Like Jagger", featuring Christina Aguilera, obviously named after rock alum Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones, putting them on the top of the list (due to its major success in 2011).

The band's song "Moves Like Jagger" enjoyed and on-and-off 4 weeks atop the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, as well as the Pop Songs, Radio Songs, Digital Songs, and the U.K. Singles charts in the summer and fall of 2011. Apon its release, it debuted at No. 8 in June 2011 and failed to chart any higher until the following October after surpassing Adele, Rihanna, and LMFAO on the charts to the number-one spot. "Jagger" is the No. 1 best selling song of all time with a name with another signer's persona in it.

Other successful songs with other artists name's in them that made the top 20 songs list include The Wanted's new track "Walks Like Rihanna", a funky dance-pop tune about Rihanna's stage persona and ability to walk sensually. Let's not forget Weezer's "Buddy Hollie", Drake and James Fauntleroy's "Girls Love Beyonce", country singer Taylor Swift's "Time McGraw", Jason Adlean's "Johnny Cash", Eric Church's "Sprinsteen" and many more added on the list.

For the first time, pop rock band Maroon 5 are nominated twice in under 2 categories. They are nominated under 11 total categories out of the possible 14 nominations they received.

Justin Bieber comes in fourth scoring zero No. 1's in the past year however had a staggering No. 1 album Believe, which sold over 300,000 copies it's first week. And Taylor Swift scored her first No. 1 single last year with "We Are Never ever Getting Back Together" as well as a No. 1 album that sold over a whoppin' 1 million in it's first week, Red.

Maroon 5 is nominated twice for Hot 100 Song (Payphone, featuring Wiz Khalifa, and One More Night), and for Top Radio Songs (One More Night and Payphone). Other categories they're nominated for are Hot 100 Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top Digital Songs Artist, Top Digital Song, Top Duo/Group, Top Pop Song, Top Pop Artist, and Top Pop Album.

There is no voting for this particular award's show. It is strictly based off of streaming and sales over the past year in music.

On other chart notes, "Night" continues it's fall on the charts as it descends 34-41 on the Billboard Radio Songs chart, and stays put at No. 13 on the Adult Contemporary Songs chart. "Daylight" now makes an impression in the top 10 on the Adult contemporary Songs chart as "Night" recently left.

Maroon 5's Grammy-nominated album Overexposed charts this week on the U.S. Billboard 200 albums chart at No. 38 after falling from No. 27.

The band's next single "Love Somebody" is already making impression on international charts, as over on the Official U.K. Singles chart it debuted last week at No. 89 on the tally. Maroon 5 Sets 'Love Somebody' As Next Single, Video to Follow

Adam Levine on the set of "Love Somebody", supposedly, in January.

Maroon 5 to release dance pop song "Love Somebody" as the fourth single from Overexposed

Maroon 5 announced at their next single to be the dance pop influenced track "Love Somebody" from the band's platinum selling studio album Overexposed. The single is said to be due out in May for radio airplay. The single will follow the group's No. 1 top 40 single "Daylight" (which topped the AC chart last month).

A music video was filmed in January with a directer who's name is not confirmed yet. But photos of the members in a blue substance were uploaded to photo sharing site Instagram months ago. However, there was some controversy that the video shoot was in some way relative to Adam Levine's stint as a guest on The Lonely Island's video for "Y.O.L.O." as well. The video is set for a May release as well.

"We wanted to make music that would make people think more of us as musicians on this album," said James Valentine in an interview last December. "And I feel like 'Doin Dirt' and 'Love Somebody' have made people think more of us. We hope to show people more of what we got for this tour." Valentine has also previously told MTV News that "Love Somebody", "Lucky Strike", and "Wipe Your Eyes" all pass as 'single material.'

Owl City Talks About 'Overexposed Tour'

Owl City singer talks about hitting the road with Maroon 5

Adam Young of Owl City is not only currently on tour with Maroon 5 and Neon Trees, he also just sang the end sequence to Disney's new animated film, The Croods. We got to chat with Adam over the phone to hear all about it!

Adam worked on "Shine Your Way" with some talented people. "It's a collaboration between myself, the wonderful Malaysian Yuna and the film composers for The Croods, Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard."

The film makers approached Adam a few months back, "The film is about the first modern family who has to find their way despite the obstacles that are stacked against them," said Adam. "We want you to sing it and maybe add some production to the track."

Having to be a huge fan of Alan and animated films, "I grew up watching The Jungle Book and The Arisocats," Adam told us. "Learning how to use my imagination and daydream, maybe not see the world as it always appears."

Day dreaming (and hard work) has gotten Adam to where he is today, but that doesn't mean he's forgotten his start. "There's still something about the song "Fireflies" that I wrote and put out a couple years ago," he told us. Oh we definitely remember that song!

"For some reason it connected with so many people that I never imagined or intended," said Adam, "It's really a weird whimsical song and it was written for me and no body else." But boy are we glad the world got to hear it! "We play that song every night and every body knows every word and that's a special thing," he added.

Now that music has taken up all, if not most of Adam's time, how would his life be without it? "My life would probably be a place where I wouldn't be too thrilled to get up every day because a few years ago that's where it was," Adam shared.

"It wasn't a crazy sob story," started Adam, "But I was working at a job I hated and going to school, getting really bad grades and feeling stuck there. If I wasn't doing music now, I'd probably be back there, working at a gas station maybe."

Instead of working at a gas station, Adam is touring the world. "This has been a really long run, we left in February and we're still out," he told us, "It's so cool, playing with Maroon 5 and Neon Trees. I feel like I get to see a free show every night."

Adam Levine Says 'I Wouldn't Call Me an Actor'

The Maroon 5 singer talks about his acting career and his role on The Voice, Can a Song Save Your Life, and touring

Adam Levine enjoys shooting movies more than he thought and is falling in love with acting fast. He "kind of already loves" acting.

The Maroon 5 singer stars in upcoming movie Can a Song Save Your Life? which is directed by John Carney.

Adam is clueless about the film industry but is enjoying the learning process.

"I don't know what I'm doing. It's fun though. To try it. I respect it a lot," Adam shared with NYLON TV.

"I certainly wouldn't call myself an actor. I'm trying new things and moving really slowly in that world. I'm certainly not trying to bite off more than I can chew. I'm trying to explore and see if I love it and I kind of really already love it. We'll see what happens. [John is] just a guy who delivers on so many different levels. I never thought I'd actually get to meet him and when I did I realised he's everything you want him to be and he practices what he preaches. He's a genuinely wonderful guy."

Despite his enthusiasm for acting, Adam hasn't lost his interest in music as a result. He revealed what special elements fans of Maroon 5 can expect from their upcoming live shows.

"I'm really excited to go on tour, and show everyone this amazing thing we've put together and meticulously arranged over the last few months," he explained. "It's visually super stunning and kind of nuts. I can't wait to get up there and do the show."

The busy star is also continuing to enjoy his role as a mentor on the US version of The Voice. He joked that one of his favorite aspects to the job is teasing his co-star, country singer Blake Shelton.

"The Voice is fun. It continues to be this really fun and inspiring thing that I never thought was going to be what it is. Being part of someone else's career is really refreshing, to flip the script and for it to be about them more and take the focus from us," he gushed.

"It's fun to interact with other people, [fellow judge] Shakira has taken to it really fast and Blake [Shelton] continues to be a d**khead and I love him more than anything."

Adam Levine Spills About His Feelings on Marriage, Proposal

Adam Levine fears divorce and heart-break if he ever got to marry

Adam Levine has recently talked about his feelings and personal thoughts on marriage and being married and keeping a relationship going. He talked with NYLON on his recent cover story and talked about his past girlfriends and such and such.

“If you don’t get married, you can’t get divorced,” he told Nylon Guys in an interview late last month. “Why couldn’t we learn from the devastatingly low percentage of successful marriages that our last generation went through?"

The Maroon 5 singer and NBC's The Voice coach and judge on the show formerly dated Victoria’s Secret beauty Anne Vyalitsyna and is still remotely dating model Behati Prinsloo, says in the latest issue of Nylon Guys, out this month.

James Valentine Says Next Album is to Sound 'Darker'

The Maroon 5 guitarist talks about Maroon 5's follow-up album to be more Songs About Jane-esque

Earlier today, Maroon 5 announced their big Honda Civic Tour this summer with Kelly Clarkson. Well it looks like with all the excitement going around James Valentine is spilling-the-beans on the pop rock outfit's newest album, their follow up to their 2012 album Overexposed, which dropped last June.

"The stuff we're working on now, it definitely has gone maybe a little darker in its sound, maybe back a little bit more to what we kind of did on Songs About Jane," James Valentine told MTV News. "But at this point we do have all kinds of different songs and it is early."

It's been almost a whole year since Maroon 5 released their pop-radio-friendly fourth studio album Overexposed and the album has so far spawned three No. 1 hit singles, being "Payphone", featuring Wiz Khalifa, "One More Night (which was No. 1 for 9 weeks on the Hot 100), and "Daylight" (No. 1 as of last week). Rumors circulated the web last month that the song "Love Somebody" was going to serve as the band's fourth single from the album, however it has not been confirmed.

Adam Levine is currently in the midst of his fourth season as a mentor/judge/coach on the NBC show The Voice. James Valentine is also busy writing and recording new material with his side project in super-group JJAMZ on their follow-up of Suicide Pact, released last July.

The 2013 Honda Civic Tour begins on August 1st in st. Louis, MS at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater with special guests Rozzi Crane and pop singer Kelly Clarkson. You can check out all of the tour dates here. Plus, purchase monitored tickets on Apr. 6th on www.livenation.com.
