Maroon 5 Tops Pop, Radio & Hot 100 Songs Chart, 'Jagger' Makes Comeback

Maroon 5 Takes Up Pop, Radio & Hot 100 Songs Charts, Topping Them All

It's been neck and neck between pop rock band Maroon 5 and Korean rapper Psy for the past four weeks as the reggae chart topper "One More Night" and the international crossover dance hit "Gangnam Style" fight for the top spot on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, and it looks like Maroon 5 isn't backing down! "Night" withstands yet another week at number-one on the Hot 100 chart, being it's fifth consecutive week. "Style" spends it's sixth week on the tally and it's third week in a row stuck at No. 2.

Maroon 5's "One More Night" is officially Maroon 5's longest running number-one hit single in their career. The Max Martin-produced track another week atop the Billboard Pop Songs and Radio Songs charts for a third week consecutively. On other chart notes, "Night" moves up a slot from 4-3 on the On-Demand Songs chart, stays put at No. 22 on the Adult Contemporary Songs chart, leaps 30-22 on the Latin Pop Songs chart, jumps 91-47 on the Japan Hot 100 songs chart, climbs to its' new peak on the Adult Pop Songs chart at No. 1, and moves up two spots from 7-5 on the YouTube chart. Maroon 5 first topped the YouTube chart back in November of 2011 with their music video "Moves Like Jagger", featuring Christina Aguilera, being their only chart topper on that chart thus far. Right now, the current No. 1 song on the chart is PSY's "Gangnam Style."

Just to check up on "Moves Like Jagger", we'll give you a little bit of how it's doing on the charts this week. It's been over a year since the song's release and approximation a year since "Jagger" topped the chart for a second non-consecutive week. The Christina Aguilera-assisted single moves up 74-66 on the Billboard Digital Songs chart, gaining recognition from the Samsung Touch Pad commercial, and stays put at No. 21 on the Myspace Audio chart.

Maroon 5's fourth studio album, Overexposed has been on the Billboard 200 albums chart for 16 weeks now when it first debuted at No. 2 on the chart, falling short behind Linkin Park's Living Things. This week, the album jumps from 21-18 on the chart. On other chart notes, it moves up 24-18 on the Canadian Albums chart and 21-16 on the Digital Albums chart.

Maroon 5 Tops Hot 100 For Fifth Week with 'One More Night'

PJ (left), James, Adam, Mickey, and Matt (right) of Maroon 5.
PSY Sits It Out Another Week, Maroon 5 Tops for Fifth Week

Maroon 5 are the true representatives for bands topping the Billboard Hot 100 this year! The band's reggae smash hit "One More Night" takes the throne for a fifth consecutive week atop the tally, being officially the longest a Maroon 5 song has topped the chart.

The band's last single to top the charts, "Moves Like Jagger", featuring Christina Aguilera, topped the chart in September 2011 beating out Adele's "Someone Like You" and Rihanna's "We Found Love", featuring Calvin Harris. Even though it may seem like the group's most outstanding song is "Jagger", it only withstood the throne for four consecutive weeks on the Hot 100's top spot.

PSY, the Korean rapper and pop musician, who brought the infectious single "Gangnam Style" across the sea to the States,  stays put at No. 2 on the Hot 100 this week as Maroon 5 takes the top spot.

'Harder to Breathe' Faces 'She Will Be Loved' on Second Week of Battle of the Songs

We paired up Maroon 5's first two singles "Harder to Breathe" and "This Love" against each other to see what track fans would keep as the dominating single for the week. With 63% of all votes (according to Twitter and web polls) we found that "Breathe" dominated!

This week we are pairing up the next single "She Will Be Loved" against this week's dominating single "Harder to Breathe." What song will win this week? The first week champ; "Breathe"? Or will one of Maroon 5's most favored singles "She Will Be Loved" throw "Breathe" off of the throne?

'One More Night' Reigns Atop Billboard For Fourth Week

PSY, no match for Maroon 5's "One More Night" on Hot 100

Maroon 5 has been holding off the Korean-pop rapping sensation right out of South Korea from topping the Billboard Hot 100 throne with his single "Gangnam Style", but it looks like the "Style" is no match for Maroon 5's "One More Night." We were certain this week that due to digital and radio impressions, "Style" would've topped the Hot 100 summit... but "Night" won by 700 chart points, according to Nielson SoundScan.

"One More Night" tops the Billboard Hot 100, but what else is the irresistible reggae pop infused tune dominating on the Billboard charts? The song tops the Billboard Pop Songs chart for a second consecutive week after moving up 2-1 two sales weeks ago. It also climbed atop the Radio Songs chart, moving up 2-1 on the chart, being Maroon 5's seventh chart topper on the radio chart. On other chart notes, the song stays hold atop the Billboard On-Demand Songs chart with "Gangnam Style", by PSY, coming in fast moving up 8-2, jumps from 27-22 on the Adult Contemporary Songs chart, descends 14-22 on the Latin Songs chart, falls a spot from 2-3 on the Canadian Hot 100 chart, slides up a notch from 3-2 on the Adult Pop Songs chart, and stays atop he Myspace Audio Charts.

Jesse Carmichael To 'Join Back Up' For Next Album

Jesse Carmichael 'Joining After Tour' to Record New Album

Jesse Carmichael took it to Twitter this evening (Oct. 10th) to confirm his returning to Maroon 5 as keyboardist and backing vocalist.

Earlier this year, back in early March, Carmichael announced that he would be tacking an indefinite break from his not-so-secured spot in the band. Just weeks later, the band released their pop rap hit "Payphone", featuring Wiz Khalifa. He stated in his tweet that he'd be returning to Maroon 5 after the band toured throughout the states and were going to enter the studio to record more material next year.

Over the passed few months, Carmichael started writing and recording his own music under the alias of 1863. His one song "I Just Needed Some More Time" gained much recognition from his YouTube channel.

Maroon 5 Spends Fourth Week Atop Hot 100, PSY Kicks It Back... Again

Looks like Psy is kicking it at number two again this week. Billboard has announced! Maroon 5 spends a fourth week at NO. 1 with "One More Night" on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

While the Korean rapper has vowed to perform "Gangnam Style" "topless in a place where everyone can watch" should the song top the Billboard Hot 100, Maroon 5 again prevents his revealing revelry, as "One More Night" spends a fourth week at No. 1. PSY's smash, buoyed by the song's buzz-worthy video in which he shows off his horse-mimicking moves, holds at No. 2 for a third frame.

Again, the race was extremely close. Last week, "Night" bested "Style" by fewer than 500 overall chart points, the smallest difference between Nos. 1 and 2 since the Feb. 18 chart. This week, just 700 points separate the songs, as "Night" gains by less than 1% in overall points and "Style" declines by 1%.

On Hot 100 component charts, each song boasts a new No. 1 ranking: "Night" rises to the top of Radio Songs and "Style" does the same on On-Demand Songs.
