Maroon 5 Stationary At No. 3 on Hot 100, Still Topping Canadian Hot 100

Maroon 5 is looking at some success this week on the Billboard charts. There single "Payphone", featuring rapper Wiz Khalifa, has helped the band reach higher anticipation of the band's upcoming fourth studio release Overexposed, but even the non-rap version of "Payphone" has helped get the song charting on the Adult Pop Songs, and Adult Contemporary Songs charts. Over on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart "Payphone" remains at a standstill at No. 3, and on the Digital Songs chart as well. It moves up a spot, 8-7, on the Pop Songs chart, 25-22 on the Adult Contemporary Songs chart, and 7-6 on the Adult Pop Songs chart. And yes, the band still takes the throne for Canada's Hot 100.

The band's 2011 chart--topping disco-thique track "Moves Like Jagger", featuring Christina Aguilera, moves up a spot from 49-48 on the Billboard Hot 100, re-enters the Digital Songs chart at No. 70, and falls 7-10 on the Adult Contemporary Songs chart. The band's third album Hands All Over is still charting strong in the top two-hundred falling 77-92.

The group is soon to be releasing their Songs About Jane re-issue so that album should definetly chart within the coming weeks of summer. You can download the 10 year anniversary edition on Amazon.com here!

Daylight To Be Maroon 5's Third 'Overexposed' Single, Fall Release

Maroon 5 may have a load of great, new tracks coming out June 22nd, but the band looks like they've already lined up their next two singles for the album, Overexposed. The first single "Payphone", featuring Wiz Khalifa, has proved that the pop rock group already has a lot in store for us. But on May 18th the band performed "One More Night", a new pop-reggae-fused tune, at Revel in Atlantic City and announcing that it would indeed serve as the second single off of the album. Last night, on a video chat with The Voice contestant Pip Andrew, he announced that the band's possible third single would be the classical "Daylight" track, which he says is his personal favorite on the album, since he went to the listening party last weekend. The band will be releasing "One More Night" later this summer and "Daylight" sometime this fall.

The Voice Season 3 starts this fall on NBC with Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, and Cee Lo Green. Make sure to check it out! www.nbc.com/the-voice

Maroon 5 Slips No. 1 In Canada, Gains In YouTube Views

Maroon 5's success over the past several years has been commercially moderate with a number-one single here... and a number-one album there. BUT this year looks like an entirely different success story for the pop rock band. As we approach the retail date for their upcoming fourth studio record Overexposed their lead single "Payphone", featuring Wiz Khalifa is sure helping the anticipation. And not only that, but the music video for the payphone ballad is already gaining so much in YouTube views that is climbed from No. 24 to No. 5 on the chart! You can watch the music video for the single here!

Last week, "Payphone" met it's new peak on the Billboard Hot 100 beating out fun.'s "We Are Young" for the No. 2 spot, but this week it falls back a spot to No. 3. Over on the Billboard Pop Songs chart it grooves up 10-8, on the Digital Songs chart descends a spot 2-3, and on the On-Demand Songs chart stays hold at No. 2. The song's success in sub-genre charts have been dramatically successful as well! It glides 18-13 on the Ringtone Charts, moves up a spot 26-25 on the Adult Contemporary Songs chart, moves 36-29 on the Japan Hot 100, and reached the No. 1 spot in Canada's Hot 100 singles' chart! As of the other charts it stays at No. 7 on the Adult Pop Songs chart and is also stationary at No. 2 on the Myspace Chart.

Rather than fun. and Gotye beating out Maroon 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the top 2, this week the 26-year old Canadian-born-and-raised Carly Rae Jepsen moves 4-2 on the chart and fun. steps back to No. 4. With "Payphone" at No. 3, falling from two last week, Gotye is still of course crowned the No. 1 hottest song in the United States.

One More Night Confirmed As Next Single, Maroon 5 To Perform At Letterman

On May 18, the band performed a song live from their upcoming album Overexposed titled "One More Night", a reggae-fused pop tune, that is said to be confirmed as the band's next mainstream single following "Payphone", featuring Wiz. Yesterday, the band had a radio interview with 107.9 and confirmed the indeed the guitar-clique tune will be the next single. It will be released "prior to the record's release in June", as said Valentine, and that it will be playing on airplay stations by July.

Also, in the interview and press conference, Mason of 107.9 said that "Love Somebody", a Ryan Tedder track, will have potential to be a single, as well as the funk-rock-tune "Doin' Dirt." Throughout the morning it was said that the songs that were most relatable in the album, reaching out to Maroon 5's main ground were "Daylight" and "Beautiful Goodbye."

Maroon 5 will be performing Live on Letterman on June 26th, the day of the album's U.S. release, as well. They will be promoting songs from the album. Make sure to tune into Letterman Tonight on June 26th, 2012!

Maroon 5 Take Home No BBMAs, Nominated for TCA

Maroon 5 was nominated five times this evening at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards, but took home no awards for the night. The Grammy Award-winning pop rock group had a big year last year with their successful hit "Moves Like Jagger", featuring Christina Aguilera, and was nominated four times tonight, but didn't grant the band's wins. Mostly thanks to hip house crew LMFAO's nods.

But on a brighter note the band is nominated at this year's 2012 Teen Choice Awards! The group is nominated for Choice Single by a Group for their "Jagger" chart-topper. However, surprisingly, the band isn't nominated for Choice Rock Band or Choice Duo/Group. But "Moves Like Jagger" is up against fun., Selena Gomez & the Scene, Gym Class Heroes, and LMFAO under the chosen category!

For the full list of nominees for the 2012 Teen Choice Awards, airing live Sun, July 22, 2012 on FOX, click HERE!

2012 BBMA's Live on ABC Tonight, Maroon 5 Nominated 5 Times

The 2012 Billboard Music Awards is already here! The live ceremonial event will be broadcasted live on ABC tonight (May 20) at 8/7c PM.

Maroon 5 is nominated five times this year. The group is nominated for the same single "Moves Like Jagger", which features Christina Aguilera, produced by Max Martin and Benny Blanco, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 last year for four weeks, in all categories granted. The band is nominated for Top Streaming Song, Top Digital Song and Top Pop Song. The band is also in the race for the headlining nominations for Top Hot 100 Songs and Top Duo/Group.

We think that the Grammy Award-winning pop rock band is going to take over the Top Duo/Group category as well as the Top Pop Song list simply due to high success in both numbers in the past year. "Jagger" spent four weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100, but not to be entirely impressed... other big names, that are nominated against the "Jagger" hit such as Adele's "Someone Like You", LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem", featuring GoonRock & Lauren Bennett, and Katy Perry's "E.T.", featuring Kanye West have all had a tad bit more reasoning.

Don't miss the 2012 Billboard Music Awards live at 8/7c PM tonight (May 20) only on ABC! For the full list of nominations, performances, presenters (ect.) you can head on over to www.billboard.com.

Maroon 5 Reaches New Peak On Hot With 'Payphone'

It may seem like the pop-y, diverse hitmaking record that is "Payphone" came out just yesterday, but it has already been four sales weeks since the song charted on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The single branches new peaks and new success this week! How? Starting off on the Hot 100 chart the single moves up a rather large notch from 3-2, meeting it's new peak, just falling behind the number-one song "Somebody That I Used To Know" by Gotye and Kimbra. "Payphone" replaced the all-mighty, previous chart topping hit, "We Are Young", by fun. featuring Janelle Monae, as "Young" moves back to No. 3.

Over on the Billboard Top Pop Songs chart, the Overexposed lead single moves into the top ten going from 13-10. If the song keeps it up, it may look at the top five or six next week. Heading on over to the Billboard Radio Songs chart the single moves from 11-10, meeting a new peak. On the Digital Songs chart the track stays at it's pulsing peak of No. 2, and just falling behind the No. 1 placeholder "Somebody" by Gotye. And last but not least over on the Billboard On-Demand Songs chart, the pop-rap record peaks at No. 2 moving from No. 4, and guess who it's just falling behind? Yep. Gotye and Kimbra. Hats off to the alternative takeover though.

Now let's take a look at other charts we haven't covered yet. Over on the Ringtone's Chart, "Payphone" currently holds at No. 18. And over on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart, we all know nothing really moves there weekly, but the band's former 2011 hit "Moves Like Jagger" holds at No. 19. But on the Adult Pop Songs chart "Payphone" charts at No. 7 plunging in from No. 9.

And congrats to the band's first studio album Songs About Jane, which potentially came out in 2003, for re-entering on the Billboard Catalog Albums Chart at No. 18!

Maroon 5 Enter Adult Contemporary Charts, 'Payphone' Gains in Adult Pop Chart

A snippet of Adam Levine in the new video for "Payphone", featuring Wiz Khalifa.
Maroon 5's new single "Payphone", featuring Wiz Khalifa, has been looking successful on the charts lately since its debuts on the Billboard charts 4 weeks ago. The track made history with the Pop Songs chart, entered in the top 3 of the Billboard Hot 100, and grooved it's way towards the top ten on the Adult Pop Songs chart faster than any other song since Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You" entered in early 2009.

The single approaches the Adult Contemporary chart this week for the first time at No. 26, following the chart's other debut of Jon Mayer's "Shadow Days" and the greatest gainer of the week, on that chart, being "Drive By" by pop-rock group Train.

The song is said to do successful this coming sales week on the Billboard Pop Songs chart, ranking the best top 40 radio airplay projections in the past week, with "Payphone" finally entering the top ten after three weeks out of the position.

Songs About Jane Pack Contains New Songs, 'Chilly Winter' & 'Ragdoll"

Maroon 5 is releasing their highly anticipated pop anthem of an album later next month titled Overexposed, however the group has another planned release earlier next month as well. As already confirmed, the band will be revealing their Songs About Jane: 10 Year Anniversary Boxset Pack on June 5, 2012. The track listing for both discs were revealed earlier this week on maroon5.com.

New songs have been breached such as a funky show tune-vibe track titled "Chilly Winter." The song was never finished, therefor we will only hear the 5 minute demo version of the song. Another song called "Rag Doll" will feature on the album as well. However, with this song, it has been out for nearly a decade, as well as Songs About Jane as well. The track was featured in the Japanese bonus track version of the album in 2003.

The Voice Season Three Begins This Fall, Launching This September

The Voice coaches Blake Shelton (left), Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo, and Adam Levine (right).
Looks like NBC is scheduling the third season of the show The Voice early this year. The second season just concluded last week on Tuesday, May 8 as Blake Shelton's side-kick Jermaine Paul took the throne and was crowned The Voice. Now, the company is set to pull the airing of the third season earlier rather than continuing the annual Super Bowl time-of-the-year premiere. According to Billboard.com and other sources, the third season is set to air this fall, most likely later this September. The show will continue their annual Monday and Tuesday night theme, while Monday's shows are usually two hours long, ranging from 8-10pm, and Tuesday's shows are aired from 9-10pm.

The same four judges/coaches, but brand-spanking new contestants. Adam Levine, frontman of Grammy-Award winning group Maroon 5, singer-songwriter Cee Lo Green, pop diva and songstress Christina Aguilera, and country superstar Blake Shelton will take this red-chairs this fall throughout the winter time on NBC on the show's third season following a successful second season.

The second season of The Voice concluded last Tuesday, May 8 as the final four were brought down to the spot and also included live performances from country group Lady Antebellum and even a surprise debut live performance of Justin Bieber's single "Boyfriend", which is the lead single off his sophomore release Believe. As it was down to the final two, being Paul (Team Blake) and Juliet Simms (Team Blake), the winner was announced. Jermaine took the title of The Voice. Last year, in 2011, mister Adam Levine won it with his side-kick Javier Colon, as they won the debut season in the states.

Maroon 5 Remains Top 5 Champion On Hot 100, Hands All Over Descends

Maroon 5 had one hell of a huge sales week last week when the group lowered the digital price of their third album Hands All Over, lowering it to a whoppin' $6.99. It jumped from No. 72 to No. 23 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. This week the funk-rocky album falls as the price goes back up to $11.99 on iTunes Store to No. 79. Hands All Over first charted back in October 2010 entering the chart at No. 2, in which in the following weeks it failed commercially. The band second studio album, released back in 2007, It Won't be Soon Before Long, debuted straight atop the Billboard 200 chart selling over 430,000 digital copies within it's first sales week. The group's debut album, released in 2002, re-released in 2003, ended up seeking major success as it peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. The band's new album Overexposed is already getting lots of attention with it's pre-order option on iTunes Store and the group's official website. Will it debut atop the chart this summer?

Three weeks ago, we saw the band's new pop-diverse lead single "Payphone", featuring Wiz Khalifa, blossom on the charts as it entered on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 at No. 3. It's second week it remained at the same position... and this week... it remains at No. 3 AGAIN! The track falls behind the top two singles "Somebody That I Used To Know" by Gotye featuring Kimbra (standing at No. 1), and fun.'s "We Are Young", featuring Janelle Monae (remaining at No. 2). The song has gained greatly in radio airplay. The song rises 19-11 on the Billboard Radio Songs chart. It also is making history this week on the Adult Pop Songs chart making it the fastest song to groove up to the top ten on that chart since 2009's Kelly Clarkson hit "My Life Would Suck Without You." "Payphone" moves up 13-9 on the chart. On the Pop Songs chart it slides up 17-13, on the Digital Songs chart it remains at No. 2, and on the On-Demand Songs chart it moves up 13-4, falling behind Carly Rae Jepson's "Call Me, Maybe" at No. 3.

The band just premiered their highly-anticipated music video for "Payphone", which indeed also features rapper Wiz Khalifa, last night on E! News. The video is up on VEVO and www.eonline.com. Check it out here!

Maroon 5 Release Snippet Of Making "This Love", Their Breakthrough Hit

Maroon 5 on the single cover for "This Love."
If you have been following Maroon 5 and their incredible, diverse music for a while now, almost a decade, than you know that the pop-rock group's breakthrough record was their 2004 smash hit "This Love", the lead mainstream single from their debut album Songs About Jane. On the band's website yesterday, via YouTube, they uploaded a near-30 second behind-the-scenes clip from back in 2002 when the group were recording the record and in the middle of mixing the album. It is said that you can get the full documentary of the band and it's producers recording Songs About Jane in the newly published Songs About Jane: 10 Year Anniversary Boxset, which came out the day of the band's fourth album Overexposed's pre-order issue on April 17, 2012.

In the short clip you can hear frontman Adam Levine calling the riff of "This Love" very "expensive guitar solo", and that it became to be. The song ended up being released in 2004 and peaked in the top 40 in the United States, bolding at No. 5, making the record platinum in several other countries as well. "Expensive right?", he jokes, "We lost you man!", then he says to Mickey Madden, who's recording the clip.

You can pre-order the band's NEW ALBUM 'Overexposed' on iTunes Store here!

You can get the full Songs About Jane: 10 Year Anniversary Boxset here!

Blake Shelton Crowned Winner of The Voice, Adam Levine Places Third

Tony Lucca and singer Adam Levine perform "Yesterday" live on The Voice.
Blake Shelton has just won The Voice moments ago on NBC! Shelton's contestant Jermaine Paul took the throne as he fought through the season with his enchanted, wonderful voice! Congrats to #TeamBlake

Adam Levine has tried again this season! He took his team through the second season of The Voice and chose Tony Lucca to help him win the year's season. But fell short to being in third place! Last night, the furious duo conjured up a brilliant performance of The Beatle's classic "Yesterday" which sold greatly on iTunes. Tony Lucca's vote-for-all cover "99 Problems", as performed on The Voice as well, sold greatly last night as it peaked at No. 2 on the iTunes Top 200 Songs Chart (the highest debut of the set of singles released for The Voice last night).

Maroon 5 Talks New Song 'Doin Dirt', Calls 'Overexposed' A Rebirth

"That sounds huge!" yells Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, rocking a Peter Tosh Legalize It T-shirt. The band is recording its fourth LP, Overexposed (due June 26th), at L.A.'s Conway Studios, and "Doin' Dirt" – a revved, funky club cut – is blasting from the massive monitors. "It's very much an old-fashioned disco tune," Levine says when it ends. "I have a love/hate relationship with it – but mostly I love it." Adds bassist Mickey Madden, "That's usually a good sign."
The love/hate vibe is all over Levine's recent successes, from NBC's hit singing competition The Voice to Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger" – the shamelessly poppy Number One single with fellow Voice judge Christina Aguilera that became the band's hugest smash ever. "'Jagger' was almost a mistake," says Levine. "I was scared to release it – but also turned on by that fear. It was the fresh injection we needed. We've been together a long time – it's like a marriage, where we needed to get kinky in the bedroom." "It actually has spiced up our marriage," adds guitarist James Valentine. "I love you guys more now!"
Levine's gig as a judge on The Voice has boosted the band's profile, but it took a while for the rest of Maroon 5 to get used to Levine's TV career. "At first, I was hesitant to watch The Voice," says Valentine. "I didn't watch the first season at all. I don't need to turn on the TV to hear Adam's opinions – that's not entertainment for me. But when I finally caught it, I got hooked like everyone else. Now, I find myself yelling at the TV, 'Turn your chair around, Adam! If you don't, that guy's kids won't have health insurance!'"
"Jagger," co-written by hitmakers Benny Blanco and Shellback, was Maroon 5's first experience with outside writers. When they returned to the studio last fall, they brought back Blanco and Shellback and hired dance-pop king Max Martin, the man behind hits by Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry, as Overexposed's executive producer. "Sometimes a co-writer will write something that's almost better than what you would do, and it's like, 'Shit!'" says Levine. Adds Valentine, "Up to now, we've been insulated from the pop-industrial complex. We've been like, 'Fuck you, we're a band.' But now, stepping into this new world of songwriters and producers, it feels fun."
The result is Maroon 5's most dance-driven album ever, with standout tracks including the pounding house cut "Payphone," featuring an irresistible Wiz Khalifa verse, and the sexy reggae jam "One More Night." At Conway Studios, Levine grooves as the track winds down. "In a way, we've had a rebirth," he says. "It's been 10 years since we started the band, when nobody knew what the hell to do with five white guys trying to sing soul music.
"Now, we thought we should see where this goes – why not? We can't keep doing the same thing forever. At this point, we want to be a little bit scared."

James Valentine Plays Furious Bank Robber In 'Payphone' Video

Maroon 5 has just released a little somethin' to get us ready for their new action-packed, exciting new music video for their Overexposed lead single "Payphone", featuring Wiz Khalifa. Some photos and clips have been leaked recently of Adam and a lady-friend just running down streets, calling at payphones, and driving in a vintage beetle. Now, you can watch a sneak preview of the new video for the single in the link provided:

The clip starts with the center of the video, a bank heist, and the middle of all the chaos, we see Adam giggling behind the desk.

"I work at a bank," Levine tells us about his character. "I have no self-confidence. It's gonna be a very difficult role for me to play because I'm a cocky motherf--ker."

Oh yeah, get used to the cursing.

Along with all that, we see a mystery blonde (who Adam says smells of cinnamon), Wiz Khalifa, guns, explosions, car chases and more Adam Levine.

Do we need to give you any other reasons to watch the clip? Didn't think so.

Maroon 5 See Success With 'Hands All Over' On Billboard Charts

Promotional album cover for Hands All Over.
In 2010, the Grammy Award-winning pop rock group Maroon 5 released their third studio album Hands All Over. In October 2010, the album saw success peaking at number-two on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. This week on iTunes Store the band lowered the price to $6.99 on the album making it gain in digital sales this week; jumping from 65-23 and re-entering the Billboard Digital Albums chart at number 12.

Maroon 5 saw major success last week with their single "Payphone", featuring Wiz Khalifa, as it debuted on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart at No. 3. That, of course, is the highest debut on the chart in the states in the band's 10-year-history. The new pop-diverse track also seeks success on the Billboard Digital Songs chart entering at No. 1 with 440,000+ copies sold. The song this week falls 1-2 on the chart. Over on the Hot 100 the song remains at it's first entry (at No. 3). The song also debuted last week over on the Billboard Radio Songs chart at No. 36, and this week moving up to No. 19 (the highest gainer on the chart this week). The song also debuted last week on the Pop Songs chart at a whoppin' No. 21. This week it moves up a few to No. 17. And last but not least, over on the new Billboard chart, On-Demand Songs, the Overexposed lead single debuts at No. 13 out of the possible 50 positions making it the highest-gainer on the chart as well.

Grasping attention over to "Moves Like Jagger", featuring pop-star Christina Aguilera, the dance-pop single keeps slowly descending to the lower half of the Billboard Hot 100 as it falls 43-47 this week. It is also at No. 9 on the Adult Pop Songs chart, No. 12 on the Yahoo! Media Chart, No. 36 on the Radio Songs chart, and No. 38 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 singles chart.

Maroon 5's 'Payphone' Single Remains At No. 3 On Hot 100

Maroon 5's career is taking off and has especially yet to grow this coming year. The pop-rock band's new single "Payphone", featuring Wiz Khalifa, debuted in the top five last week in the United States as it entered at No. 3, which is the highest debuting single in the band's 10-year history. The radio-friendly track spends its second week at No. 3 following fun.'s single "We Are Young" and Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know", featuring Kimbra. The song's main competition "Boyfriend", by teen pop singer-songwriter Justin Bieber, slips from 4-7 on the chart leaving Maroon 5 unstoppable. But whether "Payphone" will top the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the near future is unsure, as though Gotye and fun. look pretty notorious.

The band's next single is rumored to be "One More Night", a Max Martin and Shellback produced track, which both have produced the single "Moves Like Jagger" (in which spent 4 weeks atop the Hot 100 last fall). It isn't comfirmed quite yet but the song is said to leak sometime this month. Keep a look out. Also, the new music video for the band's song "Payphone" is completely finished being produced and is ready for a premier anytime soon.
